My only gripe aside from the slightly compromised gameplay is that where the fuck is Ashe.īut yeah, on average it's at least decent, and it's actually one of the more generous gacha games (it uses a system similar to Honkai Impact 3rd, but even more generous due to being able to fully upgrade even S-rank characters and weapons without needing to pull them from the gacha multiple times, in fact you usually can't get extra memories unless the specific capsule provides extra memories from drawing specific characters/weapons). Play through over and over, to collect multiple story endings & hidden items. Take on new abilities with valuable power-up chips or metal from enemies. Grab the weapons from the beaten bosses to add to your arsenals.
After leaving the stage and heading to Hunter Base's lab, they can be bought as parts. Contrary to past games, some of these Chips are developed from Rare Metals which are found in the stages. They are similar to the equippable Parts from the earlier Mega Man X games.

It’s not as refined in terms of level design or combat balance as the old games (especially since the game regularlly stops you in combat sections to throw waves of enemies at you, including enemies that basically just teleport in, which isn't the best design for a game like this, frankly), but the developers clearly respect and love the series, and there’s numerous characters who previously weren’t playable in any capacity or were only party members from Command Mission, and there are characters from all across the Mega Man series, with only Star Force currently missing. Click to shrink.It’s an actual Mega Man X platformer, though there are some design changes to better accomodate the need for touch controls - there is auto-aim like X7, for starters, though there is a neat “slide your thumb from the dash button to jump to dash-jump” thing, everyone has a double jump and an air dash (though you can’t do both during the same jump), and there’s a heavier emphasis on combat over platforming, though the levels are surprisingly large and have hidden items to find.
